Calcified Embolus

77 year old gentleman presenting with right hemiparesis.  

Baseline imaging: Non-contrast CT Head Bilateral calcified emboli, acutely in the left MCA brancehs.

CTA was performed: 

MIP imaging highlights the calcified embolus

Heavy atherosclerotic calcification at the carotid siphon.

 MRI 2 days later reveals:

Acute infarct and hemmorhagic transformation
