Dural arteriovenous fistula (dAVF) Presenting as Hemmohragic Stroke

A CT in the Venous Phase was Performed:

Note: unfortunately no imaging in the arterial phase was performed, which limits assessment for a potential early draining vein. It is important to image the brain in the early arterial phase when suspecting a shunting lesion.

A dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF), is an abnormal direct connection (fistula) between a meningeal artery and a meningeal vein or dural venous sinus. In cases where there are multiple fistulas, the related term duralarteriovenous malformation (DAVF) is used.
